Christmas Break

Get ready for picture overload!
We had the best time with my parents here visiting over Christmas break! We did so many fun things and are sad that it's over.

Ward Christmas party

They made Christmas trees out of ice cream cones

Pin the Heart on the Grinch

Tanner put it in the perfect spot!

Tanner had a dentist appointment so I kept him home from school in the morning and we went to the library beforehand. There was a little snow on the ground so we made a snowball.

And a snowman! Lol

We love our warm cozy fire

Playing at Target

I helped out in Kinley's class when they made gingerbread houses.
Kinley did this one pretty much without help.

Tanner got to make gingerbread houses at school too

Tanner wrote this note to me and Trevor

Trevor painted our bookshelves that we got from his grandpa.
I love them and think they look so much better white!

The kids got archery sets and targets from Santa

We went to the Festival of Lights, where you can just drive through this huge park that is all decked out

It was amazing!

The tornado from Wizard of Oz

Saw Frozen 2 on Christmas Eve

We all loved it, even more than the first one!
And the reclining seats weren't too bad either

Trevor playing soccer with the kids in the backyard

Kinley fell asleep on me while I was holding her

Our sibling gift exchange

We had pizookies for our Christmas Eve treat

Santa came to our house!

Waiting at the top of the stairs tradition

I got Trevor this fancy hot sauce from the lead singer of the Offspring

And the entire Wheel of Time set

Kinley got a canopy for her bed!

My parents came!
It was like Christmas 2.0 because they brought a ton of presents with them.

We did a few puzzles

And had so much fun talking

Tried out my new eyebrow tint pen from Adrienne, which I love so much

Maddie got hair chalk

Looks so cute!

On our hike through the Cedarville Forest

Tanner brought his magnifying glass and binoculars and used them quite a bit

Part of this pond was frozen solid, so Tanner stood on it!

Such beautiful scenery!
Also, Maddie has her hand on her hip in like every picture

We played baseball in our backyard with all of Tanner's baseball stuff he got for Christmas.
One of the highlights of the visit!

Finished the Toy Story puzzle

We walked on the Indian Head Rail Trail

The weather was gorgeous the whole time they were here

Tanner trying out the archery set

Went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner since my mom had never been and we had coupons

My dad reading books to the kids

We went on another hike on the 3 Notch Road Trail

Then stopped at the library

They have the best kids section

On Sunday afternoon we drove up to the DC temple visitor's center and saw a concert!

It was packed and really fun

They had tons of Christmas decorations and a creche set up

The DC temple isn't open until Fall 2020 but we got a pretty good family pic

The lights were so beautiful

The boys rode their bikes on the Rail Trail while the girls went shopping and out to lunch

They had a great time and rode 13 miles!

We had the best time shopping and spending our Christmas gift cards

Playing charades

Maddie set up a fashion boutique, and gave me and my mom makeovers

And that was our awesome Christmas break!
We had so much fun and weren't quite ready for school to start again. We are so grateful that Grami and Grampi came to visit us!

Wintertime Fun

The holidays have been really fun so far!
And winter hasn't been too bad, not even any snow here yet.

Grandma sent Tanner all the Christmas Legos!

Fun Run at the school

Kinley got to take home the class caterpillar for the weekend

We went to story time at one of the libraries here

Reading to the caterpillar

Took the kids to the park and Maddie took a few selfies

Kinley's first dentist appointment. She did great!

Tanner did great too and best of all, no one had any cavities!

Trevor added cabinets and shelves to my laundry room and made it soooo nice!

Finished product

I told him I needed somewhere to hang my shirts to dry, so he hung up this coat rack

I took the kids to cookies and card making at the library

They asked the kids to make cards for veterans, so Tanner made this one. I love the camo!

I was really proud of him for making this card. He said that they had already written cards to veterans at school and he learned all about the different branches of the military.

Cute turkey!

They got to decorate cookies too

Kinley helping me butter the bundt pan for monkey bread

Tanner bought this book at the book fair and it came with a model Megalodon skeleton that you could assemble yourself

Our Thanksgiving dinner!

And dessert

We put up our Christmas decorations

The kids did the ornaments

Shopping at Lowes for Black Friday, the girls came across this unicorn that they could not part with

It's as big as Kinley

The officer who came with us to talk to our neighbor about her animals coming in to our yard

I went to my first paint night and painted this masterpiece!

I had so much fun and am pretty proud of myself. I have never painted anything before!

Put up our nativity

Tanner started indoor soccer! He did great and loved it and Trevor did a good job coaching.

Kinley riding her bike all by herself! So proud of her.
