Trick or Treat for Halloween

Happy Halloween! Maddie was SOOO excited all day today and couldn't wait to go trick-or-treating. She even let me curl her hair again! This time we added the princess tiara that she got for her birthday and it made her costume complete. There were 2 Trunk or Treats going on in our stake so we went to the one Trevor's parents went to at the stake center. It was really fun and they had a great turnout.

Getting ready to leave for the Trunk or Treat.

We went to a few of our neighbors but only because they promised to put out candy just for our kids. I think we are the only people on the whole street who have kids, pretty much everyone else is retired.

I got Tanner's candy corn costume from Tracy, she just had it in her Halloween box. It was a little small so I just cut off the feet and then it fit fine!

Who has the better Belle costume? There were tons of princesses but this was the only other Belle we saw.

All day we were practicing with Maddie on how to say "trick or treat" when she went up to someone or when people answered the door and to hold out her pumpkin and then to say "thank you" afterwards. She did great! I thought she might be too shy but she said it every time.

Maddie with Maleficent, the evil fairy from "Sleeping Beauty." Maddie said she was a nice Maleficent.

I hung out with Tracy and held Tanner while Trevor and Brent took Maddie around to get candy. He didn't make a peep the entire time! I think he was amazed at all the activity going on around him.

Trick or Treating at our friend Matt's house. He doesn't usually get too many trick or treaters so we said we would stop by. He even gave me and Trevor some candy!

We had a great Halloween and it was so fun to dress the kids up, especially dressing Maddie up again in her beautiful Belle dress.

Pumpkin Carving and Maddie's Birthday

We finally have a blog! I am super excited because now I don't have to email 100 pictures to everyone every time we do something fun. Plus now everyone in both our families can see what we're up to, which I'm sure they have just been dying to do.

For Family Night last week we carved a pumpkin which was really fun. Actually mostly Trevor just carved it while Tanner tried to eat all the pumpkin seeds and Maddie ran away screaming "NOOOOO" every time we asked her to pull out some pumpkin innards. She wouldn't even pull out one pumpkin seed!

So we carved that pumpkin last week and then tonight for Family Night we actually carved another pumpkin because this one is getting all rotten and we made it a "happy" pumpkin because this one was pretty scary, but we didn't take any pictures of it.

The big event that we had last week besides pumpkin carving was Maddie's birthday! We all tried really hard to make it a fun and special day for her and she had so much fun! First thing in the morning she got to go on a dirt bike ride with Trevor, which she loved!

The princess castle cake. This is by far the hardest cake I have ever made but it was worth it! It definitely didn't turn out perfect but it was fun to make and Maddie sat by me the whole time I was making it waiting to put the princesses on the castle, so that made it even more fun.

Then as soon as Kalie got home from school (on a Flex Friday??) we started partying!

It was really funny because every time someone would say "Happy Birthday!" to Maddie, she would say "Happy Birthday!" back to them, like it's a holiday or something.

I think Maddie's favorite part of her birthday was when we were all singing "Happy Birthday" to her.

Tanner was only allowed to play with the wrapping and cardboard boxes but he had just as much fun as Maddie!
