While Trevor was in Norway and Kinley's birthday!

Trevor was in Norway for a whole week! But, we kept pretty busy. It was the first week of school and I made sure we had lots to keep us occupied.

The first was playing at the indoor playground they have at the rec center.

It's way too hot to go to the park this time of year, so this was a great option! The kids loved it and didn't want to leave.

At their friend Cece's birthday party.
They did all these water balloon games and it was really fun!

We played at the gymnastics center Saturday morning.

Then we headed to Joanns so the kids could pick out a craft to work on. When we walked in they had a make-your-own caterpillar table set up, so the kids got to do that.

Went to the library to make sure I didn't run out of things to read! I finished 4 books while Trevor was gone.

Doing their painting crafts

Maddie picked a ceramic tea set

And Tanner picked a wooden pirate ship!

They did a great job and it was a fun little thing to do

Then we got pizza for dinner

Trevor was gone for our 10 year anniversary, so I made this Reeses peanut butter cheesecake to make me feel better.

I decided to try making homemade bread for sandwiches! It turned out super yummy.

This is the BLT I made with it

We went to meet Maddie's teacher the day before school started. Her teacher seems really nice and she has a few friends in her class from last year.

Afterwards we went to family night at Grandma's house, where everyone was the hero!

First day of school!
Eating her balanced breakfast.

I thought I woud have to drop her off at the gate but I got to walk in with her the first day.

Lining up to head in to her classroom!

Once she sat down at her desk she cried a little but then she said the rest of her day was great.

At dance class! They are doing a tap dance to "Singing in the Rain."

I had a little brunch with some of the other wives whose husbands were in Norway

Kinley's birthday! We celebrated on Saturday since Aunt Kalie and Grandma and Grandpa were still in town.

Made these cakes for Kinley! Maddie helped me decorate Elsa.

Her party was super fun and she loved all her presents!
I can't believe she's already 2!

Tanner's Sports Camp!

Kinley loves reading books now! It is one of her favorite things.

I had never made apple pie before and wanted to try it. I ended up trying this one with streusel on top  from Sally's Baking Addiction. Trevor said it "had a good bake."

I finally caved in and bought an Instant Pot after hearing all of my friends talk about how great it was. I got it on sale from Kohl's and figured I would just try it and see if I liked it. Turns out, everyone was right, it's awesome! It cooked this Café Rio pork completely in just 1 hour.

Maddie usually takes showers now but Tanner was having a bubble bath and she was dying to play with him so I let her go in. They were in there for hours!

Tanner at his sports camp!
It was at the rec center and it was really fun. Tanner did really well and had a great time.

Maddie wanted to make something for dinner, so I suggested she make some scrambled eggs. She did everything by herself (with my supervision, of course) and did a great job!

She said they tasted delicious

Baseball day

At the end of each day, they would do something fun, like play with the parachute or climb through this tunnel thing. On the last day she brought out balloons and had them hit them with fly swatters for about 15 minutes. The kids loved it! And Maddie and Kinley got to do it too!

Tanner said his favorite sport was basketball and his favorite thing about basketball was the dribbling

Made this cheesecake in my Instant Pot too! I was a little scared because the pan I had is bigger than the size that is supposed to go in there, but I just squeezed it in, and it worked great!

Kinley taking her nap.
She sleeps great on our bed for her naptime, and likes it all to herself.

Watching Snow White videos with Uncle Ryan

And that is what we have been up to the last few weeks. I am excited to try more things in my Instant Pot! I can't believe Maddie starts 1st grade next week!!!
