You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch

We are super excited for Christmas!
The weather has been pretty warm lately and we have been having lots of fun doing Christmas activities.

Maddie's teacher gave this lesson in her class about the first Thanksgiving and Maddie wanted to do it for our family night. She told the whole story and did a great job!

Kinley was very excited to get her letter from Aunt Kalie

Maddie ready for the parade!
I made her skirt

This was the first time we had ever been to the parade.
It was really close to our house, so we just walked over.

Maddie's dance group was one of the first to go by

They handed out tons of stuff!

They dance to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" about a million times

A few classic cars went driving by, and one of them was handing out free HotWheels!

For Christmas I really wanted my ring cleaned since it hadn't really been cleaned in about 5 years and was starting to get a little yellow. While we were on a date, we dropped it off at the jeweler's and got it back an hour later, looking brand new!

Tanner gave the scripture in Primary!

Doing her one-handed cartwheel

Playing Shopkins

Making truffles!
Maddie asked if she could help and ended up dipping and decorating all of them for me. She did a great job and is a good helper in the kitchen.

The Creche Interfaith Nativity night

The Live Nativity outside.
It was pretty cold, but thankfully not windy at all.

Uncle Ryan and Uncle Kyle watched the kids for us so we could go on a date to the crèche.

This is the first year we have Christmas lights on our house!
Thanks to a heads up from Tracy, we got them on sale last year.

What we've been up to

We have just been busy with work, school, and of course, the holiday season!
We had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas.

Pinkie Pie glasses!

Kinley is pretty silly

Shopping at Marshalls. Kinley just loved this dog.

Maddie's school had a book fair and she saw a Shopkins cookbook that she really wanted, so I went with her and we bought it but I told her she had to save it for Christmas. I did let her make one thing out of it first though. Here she is making some peanut butter and banana toast.

She did a great job!

I took Maddie out one Saturday morning for breakfast at McDonalds.
They have these tablet things now by the tables that have games and stuff for the kids to play on, which she loved.

Uncle Kyle came for Thanksgiving! This is us at Classic Burger.
Kinley just loved Uncle Kyle! Everywhere we would leave to go somewhere, she would ask him, "Are you going to be there?"

Oreo shake!

This is the kids helping me make the pies for Thanksgiving.

Put up the tree!

All the pie!
My first time making all the pie crusts homemade and everything turned out great.

Sampling some to make sure it's ok

Everyone got $10 gift cards to WalMart from Grandma!

We took the kids to the store and had them use their gift cards to buy gifts for each other for Christmas. Since they are not in the sibling gift exchange this year, we figured this way they could still do something similar.

Maddie when she was the only one to show up for dance.

Ward Primary party!

Tanner playing with the stamps. He used them to write a letter to Santa.

Kinley joining in the fun.

Ward Christmas party!
We made sure and practiced with the kids what they wanted to say when they sat on Santa's lap so they would be prepared.

Tanner was a little scared but he did it!

Kinley has started wearing her Anna dress all the time.

Tanner loves to make costumes (mostly out of paper). This one is Gekko from PJ Masks.

Got my hair cut!
Since I am growing out my highlights, it looks like I have an ombre thing going on.

When Trevor is out of town, like he is this week, I cook myself my favorite meals and desserts that I know he doesn't really like. This week it was lasagna, tomato soup and cheesecake.
