Camping

We went on our Hedman family camp!

We stopped in Kernville on the way.
This is the Kern river, and it has more water in it than we have ever seen.

Cuties!

Made it to camp!
This is the lodge where we stayed.

It was great!
Super comfy, we all got to sleep in beds and have running water and be away from the bugs.
Now that's what I call camping.

We explored the kitchen in the mess hall.
Check out this industrial sized mixer and dough hook!

Maddie rang the dinner bell

We walked all around and explored the girls camp where Kalie spent many wonderful weeks over the years

The bows and arrows were a huge hit!

Tanner got pretty good

Rode dirt bikes all over

Maddie even got to ride with Grandpa

The kids played on their tablets the entire time they weren't outside.
They loved playing with Uncle Ryan.

Our first hike, looking for a waterfall

We crossed many logs

And in the end did not find a waterfall but got plenty of exercise

Later that day Grandma and Grandpa, Trevor and Maddie found the real waterfall.
You can't see it that well in this picture, but they are underneath it.

Holding out their arms like firewood for real firewood

Cozy fire

Roasting hot dogs for our dinner

Movie night!

Waking up Uncle Ryan

Second hike of the trip

This one was much easier

And we made it to the waterfall!

Dipping their toes into the freezing water

Third hike of the trip, went to Dome Rock

Panoramic view with Brent's phone

Maddie is just like Merida

And Tanner like Robin Hood

Last hike, we went to the Trail of 100 Giants

The kids loved it

A tree was blocking our way

Snuggling with Daddy because we were all super scared of the earthquakes!

Cows in the road on our way home

At the top of Dome Rock

And that was our camping adventure.
It was super fun and we had a great time!
