We have had such a busy month!
There is so much going on and school is almost out for the summer.
We hiked Fossil Falls when the Norwegians came to town. They wanted to do something local and fun so we went on this hike with them. They were super nice and even brought us some Freia chocolate!
The kids did great! They loved the hike and climbing over all the rocks.
A little help from the bishop, who is also Trevor's boss.
Kinley was a little scared and Trevor had to hold her the whole time. Made it a little hard to climb up and down the rocks, but he did it!
Waving to Tanner before we made the treacherous climb down
Hanging precariously off the cliff!
Maddie in the abominable snowman's cave. Luckily he wasn't in there.
Tanner getting his cavities filled. He did really good and is a trooper.
Playing Legos with Daddy
Showing off his new bike to Grandma and Grandpa
Giving Grandma her Mother's Day cards and presents
Maddie and Tanner wanted baby cones after we ate at McDonald's but I told them if they wanted them, they had to go ask for them by themselves. They were nervous but they did it!
I made lemon bars for Tracy.
I made two different kinds to see which was better, one from Mel's Kitchen Café and one from Your Cup of Cake. Trevor and I both preferred the Mel's Kitchen Café one.
Eating at Café Rio!
This is the first time we had been to the one in Palmdale. All the sit down places were packed since it was Mother's Day but Café Rio was empty. We were on our way down to LA to drop off Trevor, who was headed to DC for travel.
I loved my Café Rio salad so much! And Kinley liked it too.
Trying out my new KitchenAid attachment that I got for Mother's Day, my ice cream maker! It made the best homemade ice cream, it tastes even better than from the store. I also got a panini press, which I have been using pretty much every day.
Burger King! And homemade bread. I dusted off my bread machine and have started using it to make homemade bread. It has been really fun (and delicious, of course) to try some new recipes.
Open house for Maddie! She has been learning all about bees lately, and every day comes home with new information about them. Her classroom was covered in all of their bee projects, and we got to try some raw honey too.
Playing on the playground afterwards
We went to visit Maddie's kindergarten teacher to say hi and look at the turtle
Trevor and Tanner got to go on a Fathers and Sons campout with Ryan and Brent so we had girls day! While Maddie was at school, Kinley helped me make some Elsa Jello. I knew she wouldn't eat it but she wanted to make it so bad I couldn't say no.
The first thing they wanted to do was paint their nails!
Then play ponies
Then we made pizza for dinner
Can you tell which one is my half?
Then we made a banana split, using a recipe from Maddie's Shopkins cookbook
Turned out great!
Watching "Barbie: A Fairy Story" in Mom's bed
McDonald's Happy Meals for lunch!
Girls day was the best
Maddie's spring dance recital. Most of her recitals are pretty casual but this one they went all out.
She had three dances. The first one was Belle.
This is pretty much how Tanner looked throughout the program
Then she dance to "What's my name?" from Descendents 2
Then "You're Welcome" at the end
And that is what we have been up to for the last few weeks. We are excited for summer and plan to do lots of swimming, cooking, and relaxing.

Woohoo! Looks like so much fun!! Maddie must be a pro at the You're Welcome dance by now! lol. That hike looks awesome too!
ReplyDeleteWhat did the Norweigans think of the desert?! And dang, that's a lot of legos! You guys are keeping busy!
ReplyDeleteSuper fun! Great update. Patio looks amazing. I'll have to come see it. Girl's day looked nearly as fun as father and sons. Fossil Falls looks cool too. - Grampa
